Peter W. Petersen, 60, Pittsville, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Marshfield Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Pittsville, with Rev. Gary Markworth officiating. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville, and from 10:00 am until service time on Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Peter was born on January 1, 1958 in Wisconsin Rapids, to Harvey R. and Marie L. (Knuth) Petersen and was a 1976 graduate of Pittsville High School.

He married the love of his life Sally R. Hahn on June 22, 1985 at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Pittsville. Their love story was filled with passion, devotion, and a bond that will last forever.

Pete worked hard on the family farm. He enjoyed spending time with his family, snowmobiling, shooting pool with his son, and watching Nascar, the Packers, and the Brewers.  His family meant the world to him, his granddaughters were the sparkle of his eyes, they always enjoyed taking tractor rides with Papa.  He was an amazing father and touched the lives of everyone around him.

Pete is survived by his loving wife, Sally, and their children, Ashley Petersen (Jeff), Whitney Frombach (Jake), and Peter Petersen (Marissa). He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Taelyn and Hadley Frombach and baby Petersen expected in March 2019. He is further survived by 2 sisters and a brother, Diane Kazmierczak, Linda Jones (Gary) and Harvey Petersen (Aneva) and brothers and sisters-in-law, Beverly Fox, Bonnie Heuer (Bryan), Daniel Hahn (Tami), Nancy Zieher (Bruce), Jane Hahn and Anna Olig (John), and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arnold and Loretta Hahn and in-laws, Art Kazmierczak, Dale Hahn and Gerald Hahn and nephews, Jonathan Petersen and Scott Kazmierczak.

“It isn’t the farm that makes the farmer, it’s the love, hard work, and character”
