Home Depot works with VFW to transform Rapids veteran’s home
For the Rapids City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Representatives from the Wisconsin Rapids Home Depot store and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) joined together Sept. 22 to transform the home of Michael Rajchel.
Rajchel is a three-year veteran of the United States Army who served in the Vietnam War. Work at the Rajchel home included the removal of unsafe steps and the installation of an ADA certified ramp and entryway landing.
The project is part of Home Depot’s Celebration of Service campaign, which runs Sept. 20 to Veteran’s Day. During this time, Home Depot’s associates volunteer time to work with local and national nonprofits to serve aging, combat-wounded, and homeless veterans.
The Home Depot Foundation also completes projects year-round to serve and support veterans and military families.
