WISCONSIN RAPIDS – St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 320 Oak St., Wisconsin Rapids, invites all pet owners to the “Blessing of the Animals” special service, set for 11:30 a.m., Oct. 7. The service will take place on the west side lawn of the church. In case of rain, the blessing will take place under the awning in the parking lot.

The service is open to all in the community, of any denomination, and all are encouraged to bring their pets.

The Rev. Mary Trainor will lead the attendees in the short service. All pets – dogs, cats, gerbils, turtles, even stuffed animals – are welcome to attend with their humans. Pet owners are asked to make sure pets are on a leash or in a carrier or box, and all pets are up-to-date on shots. All who attend will receive a certificate for their pet.

For more information, call St. John the Evangelist Church at 715-423-2332.
