Animal abuse reported

At 1:14 p.m., a 35-year-old woman called to report possible puppy mill issues at a residence in Babcock. She reported that there were too many puppies that were sick or dying. This call led to 76 dogs being surrendered.

Excited new home owners

At 8:02 p.m., a 54-year-old Grand Rapids man called to report seeing someone shining a light into the window at the house across the road. Police found a couple there who had just put an offer on the house and were just there to look at the place again.

September 20

Building is vandalized

At 8:17 a.m., an employee of a storage business in Nekoosa called to report that there was spray paint on the side of the building. They are unsure of when it occurred but it had to have happened sometime in the pas 7-10 days.

Fake money at casino

At 2:23 p.m., an employee for Ho Chunk Gaming Casino in Nekoosa called to report that a man had dropped $4,000 worth of fake money in the parking lot at the casino. The money was found to have Chinese writing on it. The man never tried to use the money at the casino, so no illegal activity occurred.

Ex-employee stole gas card

At 2:05 p.m., a 38-year-old Richfield man reported that an ex-employee of his took a gas card and appears to be using it. A Marshfield gas station was able to get the plates from the car as well as video footage. They were able to identify the 41-year old man in the video as the ex-employee.

Deliver & Dash

At 3:40 p.m., a 20-year-old Grand Rapids woman reported that a pizza company delivery driver threw the food when they delivered and then left. The officer did a follow up with the pizza company regarding this incident.

September 21

Students vandalize locker

At 10:20 a.m., Auburndale High School staff called to report that two students were attempting to glue another student’s locker shut, creating damage to the school’s property. Parents were notified of the criminal damage report.

Grand Rapids home break in

At 4:07 p.m., a 56-year-old Grand Rapids man reported that his residence had been broken into with force and there are several items missing. The case is currently under investigation.

Missing Hayward teen found safe in Marshfield

At 3:29 p.m., a 39-year-old Marshfield man called to report that there was a girl sitting on front steps at a residence on 14^th Street in Marshfield and thought it could possibly be missing teenager from Sawyer County. Officers arrived and confirmed it was the missing girl. The girl was taken to Marshfield Medical Center and eventually home.
