WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Two Nekoosa men are recovering after a Sept. 27 crash. It occurred just before 6 p.m. on Lincoln Road just west of Elm Road in the town of Wood.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, a 36-year-old Nekoosa man and his passenger – a 30-year-old Nekoosa man – were the only ones involved in the one-vehicle accident. One was ejected from the vehicle, but deputies did not say which one. Both were transported to the Marshfield Medical Center—the driver by the LifeLink Three helicopter, and the passenger by Wisconsin Rapids ambulance. Their conditions have not been released.
Investigators say speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
The Pittsville Police and fire & ambulance departments, State Patrol, and Wisconsin Rapids ambulance assisted Wood County deputies at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
