Consolidated Musky Club stocks local waters
For the Rapids City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – As part of an effort to resurrect the Central Wisconsin Musky fishery over the past 30 years, the Consolidated Musky Club recently helped stock local waters.
On Sept. 14, the club stocked 995 11-13-inch fingerling Muskies, with 200 released in Nepco Lake in memory of Don Bierman, 650 released into Petenwell Flowage in memory of Darlene Newby, and 145 placed in Castle Rock Flowage.
The Nepco release was a joint effort with Wood County Parks & Forestry through Wisconsin Conservation Aids through Muskies, Inc.
The releases were completed through a series of fundraising efforts.
