Benjamin E. Renner, age 67, of the Town of Rome, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Wausau Aspirus Hospital.

Memorial services for Ben will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Deacon Jerry Ruesch will officiate the service. The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Ben was born on August 23, 1951 in Monroe Center, Wisconsin to the late Ralph and Myrtle (Sutherland) Renner. He married Frances A. Davis on July 24, 1982 at Sacred Heart Church in Nekoosa. Ben worked for 33 years as a mechanic/shop foreman for the Town of Rome, retiring in 2013.

Ben enjoyed playing in his weekly pool league with his brothers, had a great sense of humor, attending the Iola Car Show every year and loved working on his many cars. Most importantly to him was the time spent with his family. He was a loving and wonderful husband to Fran, father to Ben and Adam and grandpa to Autumn. He had a big heart and was there to help anyone in need. Ben was the family go-to-guy for problems and he had an unconditional love for everyone in his family.

Ben is survived by his wife Fran, sons Ben (Amy Winton) Renner of Wisconsin Rapids and Adam Renner of Stevens Point, WI, granddaughter Autumn Renner, three sisters, Carol Thome, Rosemary Pazurek and Betsie (Rob) Skinner, all of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; and four brothers, Ken (Amy) Renner of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Ralph (Sue) Renner of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, John (Carrie) Renner of Georgia and Matt (Tracie) Renner of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and his mother and father-in-law George and Delores Davis. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews who all loved their Uncle Ben.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, one brother and four brothers-in-law.

Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is assisting the family with arrangements.
