WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The 76 dogs seized from two Wood County homes in September are officially up for adoption. Officials at the South Wood County Humane Society in Wisconsin Rapids said the dogs, which were living in distressing conditions in Babcock, have returned to good health and will be up for adoption starting next week.
When the dogs were rescued, most were covered in fleas, intestinal parasites, and one dog tested positive for the Parvo virus.
Beth Peabody, the director for animal care at the humane society, says all 76 dogs have been cleared by a veterinarian and are up for adoption as of Oct. 8.
