Yard nuisance

At 8:02 a.m., a Port Edwards man called police regarding another residence that hasn’t had the lawn mowed since a new tenant moved there in July. The caller had previously contacted the village regarding the incident but nothing was done. Police spoke with a 20-year-old man who stated he would have the lawn mowed in the next week.

Gas ‘n Go

At 6:36 p.m., a Nekoosa gas station employee called regarding a gas drive off from the day before. Two females came in and said they would come back to pay. The females never returned.

October 3

A broken lock

At 8:37 a.m., a 68-year-old Plover man called to report that a trailer home inside a storage building near Rudolph had the lock cut off. It didn’t appear that anything of value was missing. He does have a camera set up and will try to view the photos from the camera for more information.

October 4

Wrong place, wrong time

At 3:12 p.m., a 21-year-old man stated that while he was cleaning out a garage at a Wisconsin Rapids apartment building, a male came and pointed a gun at him. A deputy arrived and found it was a misunderstanding and that the man was in the wrong garage cleaning.

Doors wide open

At 5:52 p.m., a Grand Rapids man phoned police after coming home and finding his garage door and front door of his residence wide open. Caller asked for someone to check out residence before he would go in.  A deputy arrived and everything looked ok.

October 5

Ambulance called to Wood County Jail

At 8:48 a.m., an employee at the Wood County Jail called to report an inmate that wasn’t eating, drinking, or communicating. The woman was playing in toilet water and also giving herself sores. The woman was taken to the local hospital.

October 6

Living off the land

At 11:29 a.m., a Saratoga man called stating he thinks people are living on private land as he found sleeping bags and other items in a field. Officers are investigating.

ATV hit and run

At 7:49 p.m., a Pittsville woman reported that a man on a 4-wheeler had hit a light pole while driving his 4-wheeler down a walking path. Police arrived and found broken glass on the path and cleaned up. They were also able to locate the driver of the 4-wheeler.

October 8

Could have been a crappy situation

At 8:12 p.m., a town of Richfield man called to report that a vehicle had rear ended the tractor that his brother was driving. The tractor was pulling a spreader at the time of the accident. No injuries were reported.
