CHICAGO — The Riverkings ended the USPHL Chicago Showcase, held Oct. 11-14, with a 2-2 record.

Thursday brought the Riverkings a win with Thimo Ey and Chase MacKenzie finding the net and Adam Peterson capitalizing with two goals for a 4-1 victory over the Midwest Blackbirds. Friday the Riverkings fell 0-4 against the Lansing Wolves fighting off an aggressive game.

Saturday’s first game brought a thrilling battle going into a shootout where Peterson sunk one in against the Florida Junior Blades. Parker Rutherford was in net and took home the win with his shutout performance.

Saturday night Peterson, with the help of Collin Moore, got the boys on the board in the first half. Coming out in the second half, Jered Stevenson started the scoring for the period half way through, with the help of Chase MacKenzie and Cole Creger. The defending league champions, Hampton Roads Whalers, followed quickly and took home the win. The final score read 2-4 Hampton.

The Riverkings head to Minnesota Oct. 19-20, to face the Minnesota Mullets.
