Donald L. Whitley, age 89, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the House of the Dove, Marshfield, WI.

Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the United Methodist Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Rev. Joshua Pegram will officiate. Visitation will be at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI from 4:00-7:00 PM Wednesday and also at the Church on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.

Donald was born July 5, 1929 in Souris, Manitoba, Canada to William “Jack” and Mary (Lewis) Whitley. He married Fay Firlotte on October 7, 1954 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Donald was employed at Consolidated Papers Inc. from 1967 until 1991, retiring as the process superintendent in the Kraft Division.

Donald enjoyed golf, tennis and was a member of the Tri-City Curling Club.

Donald is survived by his wife,  Fay; three daughters, Susan (Paul) Pederson of Forest Lake, MN, Carol Whitley of Plainfield, IL and Joan (Dean) Berceau of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; two sons, David (Lisa) Whitley of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Dean (Lisa Jansen) Whitley of Middleton, WI one brother, Robert Whitley of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; 9 grandchildren, Theran (Laura) Berceau, Raina (Andy) Zanow, Tyler Berceau (Rachel Smith), Lianne (Jake) McKee, Justin Whitley, Matthew Whitley, Mark Vesecky, Jessica Whitley and Melissa (Kevin) Johnson and 11 great grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Douglas Whitley.

“The family appreciates the House of the Dove and Aspirus Cancer Clinic for all the care and comfort they provided in Donald’s courageous battle against pancreatic cancer.”
