October 10

Suspicious person

At 1:27 a.m., a 17-year-old Auburndale male called police after waking up to his dogs barking and seeing a male wearing all black standing by his vehicle in the driveway. He saw the male take off towards a barn on foot. The caller asked police to check his house and the area.

Landlord checks on damages

At 12:07 p.m., a 73-year-old Saratoga woman asked police to document damage in her residence after her landlord had come and checked on damage as well. Police found the house in complete disarray. Landlord had concerns about fire hazards due to cigarettes left burning on wood tables and furniture in almost every room in the residence. The deputy gave the woman options for getting her house in a better living condition.

No go with the fake money

At 6:08 p.m., a Saratoga gas station employee reported that a man came in and tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill. The employee did not accept it and the man took the money back and left in a car driven by a woman.

Dog bites little girl

At 5:22 p.m., a 51-year-old Auburndale man called to report that his daughter was bit in face by a dog. The dog belongs to his neighbor’s son and the neighbor was watching the dog for him at the time.

Woman sees person outside window

At 12:44 a.m., a Rudolph man called police for his wife who was home alone and had called him because she had heard a phone ring and looked out her window and saw someone standing outside. An unknown work truck was seen leaving the area.

October 13

Woman breaks down her front door

At 10:21 p.m., a Vesper man called police after getting into a dispute with his wife. The woman, highly intoxicated at the time, broke down the front door of their residence. After deputies arrived, the woman was taken to the Wood County Jail.

October 14

Teen steals car

At 1:38 a.m., a 29-year-old Port Edwards woman reported that a 13-year-old female had stolen her vehicle sometime after 9 p.m. The vehicle was eventually found in Shawano County.

Tractor drama

At 12:24 p.m., a town of Richfield man called and reported that his tractor was stolen. His tractor was being stored at another man’s home. The other man, tired of storing the tractor, tried contacting the Richfield man and after getting no response decided to sell the tractor to a third person. After the deputy’s investigation, the tractor was wrongfully sold and the tractor was returned to the rightful owner and the money is to be reimbursed by the seller back to the man who bought the tractor.
