Marshfield man pleads no contest in Rapids homicide case

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — A Marshfield man charged in the death of his ex-wife’s husband pleaded no contest to first degree intentional homicide in Wood County Court Oct. 18.
According to reports, Gary Bohman, 59, entered Higher Grounds Bakery, 4231 Eighth St. South, Wisconsin Rapids on March 24 and shot 39-year-old Christopher Race, while he was working behind the counter. Race’s two young children were present at the time and the incident was captured on video surveillance.
Bohman was located in the parking lot shortly after the incident and arrested. He is being held on a $1 million bond.
Bohman will be sentenced Dec. 18.
