WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Local beauty consultants are providing care for cancer patients, while brightening their day, as they undergo treatment.

For years, Janine Malcolm and several of her beauty consultants have provided gift bags to brighten the holidays of cancer patients that are in treatment at local cancer care centers in Wisconsin Rapids.

Malcolm said she came up with the idea after watching women close to her that were battling cancer.

“I lost a daughter to cancer. Also, I have consultants in my unit that have fought cancer,” she explained. “It gives them great products to use on skin that tends to be dryer due to treatment. Plus, it lets them know their community cares for them.”

The group typically provides 150 gift bags and seeks assistance in providing products for the donation,

“(We) ask people to help by purchasing at least one of the gift sets consisting of a hand cream and lip balm,” Malcolm said. “(Our) goal is to have all the gifts ordered and wrapped, so (we) can deliver them before Thanksgiving to the cancer centers.”

Each gift card contains a card from the community and may include the name of a donor.

If you would like to help, contact Malcolm at 715-340-6287 or janine@marykay.com.
