October 23
Hotel threats
At 8:10 p.m., a 58-year-old man called police stating that there are people outside of his hotel room making threats towards them. He does not know who the people are. The man called back a little bit later and said they were back. Police arrived and assisted the man in leaving the hotel.
Attempted thefts thwarted
At 11:02 p.m., a man called to report a female trying to break into his garage. She did not take anything but left on a bike. At 11:09 p.m., another call came in stating there was a woman matching the same description.
October 25
Break in at home
At 3:37 p.m., a 45-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man reported the theft of guns and checks from his residence. Investigation is ongoing.
October 26
Hit and run reported
At 4:34 p.m., a 56-year-old man reported that while his wife was driving their truck, a minivan ran a stop sign and hit their truck. The minivan driver did not stop.
Woman yells for help
At 10:50 p.m., a Wisconsin Rapids man called police after a white van pulled up in front of his residence, and he heard a woman yelling “help me” from inside the van. He saw a man get out of the van and walk away. Police arrived and investigated the disturbance.
October 27
Bike fire
At 1:51 p.m., a woman called to report seeing a younger boy sitting by a curb with his bike. She stated it appeared the boy was trying to start the bike on fire with some chemical stuff. Police arrived and found the boy, spray painting his bike.
October 29
The drones are coming
At 3:01 a.m., a 57-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman called to report that she could still hear a drone coming from a nearby shed. She had also called a few hours earlier to report that the drone was in the house and would like someone arrested.
