Chorale presents tribute to The Great War

MARSHFIELD – Central Chamber Chorale, a central Wisconsin group of experienced singers, will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I in three free concerts.
The programs will feature songs written by composers who fought in World War I; songs about World War I, including In Flanders Field, Armistice 1918, a military medley; and songs of the era.
The Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Richard Brunson, associate professor of music at UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield, is in its 48th season. Mika Brunson, lecturer of music at the campus, is the Chorale’s accompanist.
The concerts will take place Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 311 Second St. South, Wisconsin Rapids; Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. 400 N. Second Ave., Abbotsford; and Nov. 11 at 3 p.m.at First Presbyterian Church, 200 S. Lincoln Ave., Marshfield.
