Riverkings host home opener, sweep Vipers

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Riverkings hosted the Kasson Vipers in their home opener Nov. 2-3 at the South Wood County Recreation Center, Wisconsin Rapids.

While the Vipers were the first to score, Rich Young answered soon after, with assists from Jered Stevenson and Zack Hartley. Period one ended with 2-1 Kasson leading.

Jered Stevenson quickly responded with a goal of his own with the help of Jordan Stear and Raymond Fleming. Thimo Ey sunk one in with Cole Creger and Jordan Stear grabbing the assists. The second ended 3-3.

The Riverkings were lighting up the scoreboard as Thimo Ey grabbed his second of the night with the help of Adam Peterson and Cole Creger. Raymond Fleming found the back of the net with the help of Carson Bayoff and Luke Millius. Adam Peterson was the last scorer of the night with the help of Cole Creger and Jered Stevenson,

The Riverkings ended the first night with a 6-3 win.

The first period started off with Tanner Dey finding the back of the net with the help of Zack Hartley and Carson Bayoff. A few minutes later, Rich Young scored with assists going to Jesse Edwards and Chase MacKenzie. Adam Peterson continued the scoring streak with the help of Thimo Ey and Cole Creger.

Cole Creger found the net near the end of the period with help of Adam Peterson, leaving the score at 4-1 Riverkings.

The second period remained scoreless, but that didn’t stop the Riverkings in the third period. Tanner Dey started off the third with the help of Zack Miceli and Raymond Fleming.  Cole Creger grabbed two more goals back-to-back with help from Adam Peterson, Raymond Fleming, and Jordan Stear. Creger picked up his fourth of the night unassisted.

To close out the night Adam Peterson scored with the help of Tomas Krchnak and Zack Hartley, giving the Riverkings another win, with the scoreboard reading 9-3.
