WISCONSIN RAPIDS – United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties’ Volunteer Center promotes the volunteer needs of local non-profit organizations in both south Wood and Adams Counties.
Heartland Hospice
Friendly Visitors- Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity? Friendly Visitor volunteers spend time with individuals receiving Heartland Hospice services in Wisconsin Rapids and surrounding communities. Activities include reading to patients, playing cards, going on walks, assisting with activities, or reminiscing about days gone by. Visit schedule is set by the volunteer and is very flexible. Music Volunteers
Do you enjoy music? Share your musical talents with our hospice patients. If you play an instrument or enjoy singing, share your abilities with a hospice patient that enjoys music and would benefit from additional socialization. Opportunities are available in Wisconsin Rapids, Nekoosa, Friendship, Adams, and surrounding communities. Ongoing visits with patients are needed, as well as one-time musical events such as memorial services.
Bereavement Volunteers
Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that is flexible and can create your own schedule? Have you experienced a loss and want to help someone who is going through losing a loved one? Bereavement volunteers spend time with individuals receiving Heartland Hospice services. You can make visits to the bereaved providing companionship and facilitating through the grief process. There is a specific orientation for this to make you comfortable and prepared for making visits. You will work closely with the Bereavement Coordinator to support families after the loss of a loved one. Please contact our office today at 715-344-4541 for more information.
Wisconsin Rapids Community Media
