Saddle up for the Mane Event: Jeremiah’s Crossing to host fundraiser

For the Rapids City Times
BABCOCK – Jeremiah’s Crossing, a regional therapeutic horseback-riding ranch, will host their classic Mane Event Winter Gala Dec. 1. This is a semi-formal occasion and chance to dress up for a good cause.
The Babcock ranch raises funds in multiple ways to finance their non-profit operation which is dedicated to help children and adults with diagnosed physical, cognitive, emotional, and academic special needs at no cost to the students or their families.
The horse-human partnership involved allows the horse to meld with the rider in action, warmth, and emotion. In a silent and calming way, that association quietly conveys togetherness and joy through cooperation.
The Mane Event is an opportunity for the community to have a pleasant evening out with others who share their appreciation for this wonderful community service. A live social hour starts at 5 p.m., with music provided by the Lincoln High School String Chamber Players, and dinner is at 6 p.m. A live auction begins at 7:15 p.m. and entertainment will be supplied by three-piece acoustic Rapids band, Goats in Trees.
The event will be held Dec. 1, 5-10 p.m., at the Nekoosa Area Community Center, 416 Crestview Ln., Nekoosa.
