WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The United States Air Force and the Wisconsin National Guard have declared the Hardwood Range complex and the associated property a hazardous area.

The property is considered hazardous due to the possibility that unexploded or inert ordnance and munitions remain on the range.

“The safety of the general public and citizens who wish to use the property for recreational purposes is our primary concern, and while the Wisconsin National Guard does not advise leaving the roadway, those who enter the property do so at their own risk,” said officials in a statement to the public.

“We regret any inconveniences this may cause to the public, and we appreciate the community’s continued support and flexibility. This letter simply serves as notice of the potential hazards of accessing the property.”

The Wisconsin Air National Guard’s Hardwood Range complex has been open to the public for many years for the purposes of hunting.
