Dale Eggebrecht

Dale F. Eggebrecht, age 79, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Dale was born June 16, 1939 in the Town of Frankfurt, Marathon County, WI to Fred and Lillian (Merwin) Eggebrecht.  He married his high school sweetheart, Judy Hillmer, on November 23, 1957 in Wisconsin Rapids.

He was employed by Consolidated Papers Inc. for 40 years, retiring as quality control supervisor, and drove semi for a period after retirement.

Dale was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt duck, geese and deer and fish for trout and muskies.  Dale also enjoyed motorcycling and snowmobiling.  He took trips to Wyoming mule deer hunting for 30 years at Sheep Springs Canyon, and several family trips “Out West” to the Dakotas, Montana and Wyoming.  Dale and Judy enjoyed traveling to Cancun on vacation for many years as well as special trips to Hawaii, Las Vegas and Florida.  He had a love of life and never slowed down.  Dale always seemed to have to be doing something.  He loved being with family and friends; whether it be at the cabin “Up North” playing cards, Trouble, Sheepshead or drinking a cold beer and munching on peanuts. Christmas was a favorite time of year for Dale.    He and Judy where known for their famous “Lemmies” that they would hand make every year.

Dale is survived by his loving wife, Judy; children: Cynthia (Jerry) Guzman, Muriel (Jeff) Jazdzewski and Jeffrey (Jeanne) Eggebrecht; grandchildren: Amy Eggebrecht, Becky Ward, Jenna (Nathan) Mast, Alicia Kramer, Dustin (Traci) Eggebrecht, Clayton Eggebrecht, Dylan (Kellie) Eggebrecht, and Garret Eggebrecht; great-grandchildren: Gavin Eggebrecht, Damon Zalewski, Alayna Zalewski, Ethan Fawley, Braydon Cook Guzman, Paige Eggebrecht, Emma Groschek, Issac Fawley, Aubree Kramer, Jesslynn Mast, Carter Mast, Dylan Gustin, Raylan Eggebrecht, Beckett Eggebrecht and Lyric Mews; sister, Virginia Blair, Wausau, WI; brother, Larry (Beverly) Eggebrecht, Wisconsin Rapids;  Vic Olson; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jesse Ward; granddaughter, Amber Schlotman; great-grandson, Gabriel Kramer; brother-in-law, Daniel Blair; sister and brother-in-law: Donna (Don) Swetz; sister-in-law, Joan Swetz; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Darlene (Pat) Fanning; brother-in-law, Robert Hillmer; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Earl and Thelma Hillmer.
