Michael John Addis, age 66, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Mike was born on July 6, 1952 in Milwaukee, WI to David and Marion (Nelesen) Addis.  He married Debra Levreau on June 24, 1976.  Their union was blessed on July 1, 1978 at St. Sebastian Church in Sturtevant, Wisconsin.  Mike and Deb enjoyed 42 wonderful years of marriage.

Mike worked for Clark Oil for many years and then worked in pipeline construction until his retirement.

Being with family was the most important thing to Mike.  He especially loved watching his grandchildren participate in activities from playing baseball to musical performances and singing.  He looked forward to Bags Tournaments at the Addis house and making memories sitting around the bonfire enjoying a couple of cold beers with family and friends.  Mike was a handy man and could fix just about anything.  He enjoyed putzing around the yard and tending to his gardens.  He loved fishing and other outdoor activities.  Mike and Deb liked to travel and took memorable trips to Las Vegas, Alaska and Jamaica.  Their favorite destination was Biloxi, Mississippi where he and Deb planned to retire someday.  Mike was an avid Brewers, Packers, Badgers, Bucks and Marquette Warriors fan.  He loved a good joke and an occasional trip to the casino for a little gambling.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Deb; children: Sherri (Steve) Dittman, Kimberly (Neil) McGrath, Raynelle (Paul) Simonsen, Michael (Amy) Addis, Jennifer (Nick) Henke, Ryan (Courtney) Addis, Kevin Johnson, Kurt (Roxanne) Johnson, Stephanie (Frank) Koziol (and many other foster children); grandchildren: Anthony, Erica, Abigail and Makayla Addis, Sophia and Amelia Dittman, Nicholas and Tessa McGrath, Marcos and Brett Simonsen, Gracelynn, Kasen and Hunter Henke; and Gage, Savannah and Pressley Addis; two brothers: Marc (Kathy) Addis and Daniel (Keri) Addis; four sisters: Marguerite (Ronald) Kaskavitch, Mary (Joseph Schweitzer) Patzke, Kristine (Greg) Schweitzer and Karen (Kenneth) Matz; mother-in-law, Margaret Levreau; in-laws: Myrna (Damien) Kudronowicz, Bernadine (William) Galecki, Virginia (Lyon) Jelinski, Ralph Levreau, Colleen (Robert) Clark, Thomas (Teri) Levreau and Maureen (Andre) Mueller; special friend, Dan (Luann) Horgan; and many special nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Timothy and Patrick Addis; father-in-law, Ralph Levreau; and brother-in-law, Dennis Newby.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids.  Chaplain Dave Baker will officiate.  A time of visitation and remembrance will precede the service from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 pm. at the funeral home.  Please come as you are, no suit or formal attire is necessary.

To honor Mike’s wishes, A Life Celebration will also be held this spring, complete with a Bags Tournament, a bonfire, cold beer and plenty of good memories.

Herman-Taylor Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, is honored to be serving the Addis family.  For online condolences, please visit www.taylorfuneralhome.net.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be considered to SCH Foundation-Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Special thanks to Ministry Hospice Ascension at Home (especially Chaplain Dave Baker, social worker Tisha Steele and nurses Bea Wilson, Daisy Khang, Barbie Gildenzoph, Jessica Capogreca and Lynn Hetzel) for all your wonderful care and support to our family, and United Emergency Medical Response for all your kind assistance; we cannot thank you enough.
