Aspirus to host diabetes session for women

For the Rapids City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Could you have diabetes or pre-diabetes and not know it? Symptoms often develop slowly and can be subtle or many people have no symptoms at all.
Aspirus invites all ladies to learn more about diabetes and pre-diabetes at the free Aspiring Women ladies’ night out, “Dodging Diabetes.” The Certified Diabetes Educators from Aspirus Riveview’s Diabetes & Nutrition Center will discuss: the difference between diabetes and pre-diabetes; what puts you at risk of pre-diabetes; strategies for avoiding pre-diabetes; and eating and exercise habits to optimize your health.
“Dodging Diabetes” will be held Dec. 11, 5:30-7 p.m. at the Hotel Mead, Wisconsin Rapids. Attendance is free with a suggested donation of a new, unwrapped toy for a child age 6-14 for the Wisconsin Rapids Toys for Tots program.
Advance registration is required, as space is limited. To register, visit aspirus.org/AspiringWomen or call 1-800-847-4707 weekdays, 8 a.m. – 5:30 pm.
