Joy M. Schauer, age 59, of Port Edwards, died Tuesday December 4, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday December 7, 2018 at the Nekoosa United Church of Christ. Rev. Timothy Miller will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa. Visitation will be held at the church of Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM. Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Joy was born September 8, 1959 in Wisconsin Rapids to Edward and Ruth (Richtmyre) Spaulding. She married Charles Schauer on May 7, 1994 in Wisconsin Rapids. For 26 years she was employed by Corenso North America, retiring in 2016.

Joy was a member and secretary of the Consolidated Musky Club and also a member of Bill’s Musky Club of Wausau. Her interests included crafts, camping and traveling. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Charles Schauer of Port Edwards; three daughters Jennifer Lau of Wausau, Ashley (Jake) Henrichs of Medford and Krista (Jason) Johnson of Brainerd, MN; five grandchildren Evan, Emma, Lillian, Nikolai and Silas and her six siblings Lois (James) Tuxhorn of Wisconsin Rapids, Garry (Peggy) Spaulding of Sparks, NV, Michael Spaulding of Sparks, NV, Sandy (Morgan) Long of Brillion, Jeff (Peggy) Spaulding of Amherst and Mark (Theresa) Spaulding of Nekoosa. Joy is also survived by her in laws Larry and Barbara Schauer of Port Edwards and three sisters in law Chris (Jeff) Jansen, Debra Schauer and Connie Schauer. Joy was preceded in death by her parents.
