Neillsville girls down Assumption

NEILLSVILLE – The Neillsville girls basketball team took down the Assumption Royals in a non-conference match up Dec. 7 at Neillsville High School.
Neillsville secured a small lead at halftime 23-20, before finishing strong with a 49-33 win.
Kelly Barth led Neillsville in points with 13, while Bella Opelt, Alli Schoengarth, and Jaden Barth each added 11.
Assumption’s Jessie Grundhoffer led the way with 17, while Elle Leberg added seven.
Neillsville and Assumption are now both 5-1 for the season.
After a game against Newman Catholic on Dec. 11, Assumption will face Phillips Dec. 13 at Phillips. Neillsville will face Colby (5-0) Dec. 13 at Colby High School.
