Riverkings split two close games at home

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings split two close games at home Dec. 7-8 at South Wood County Recreation Center.
The Riverkings won in overtime on Dec. 7, over Chicago 2-1. New player, Haralds Jirgens had a positive effect scoring the game winner in his first game after arriving in Rapids just hours before the game. Jered Stevenson had a goal and assist, and Drake Bradshaw picked up the win between the pipes.
The Riverkings lost 2-1 in a hard-fought second game Dec. 8. Raymond Fleming had the line goal in a Riverking power-play, and Dom Paciocco made 19 saves in the loss.
Riverkings return to action Dec. 14-15, as they welcome the Steele County Blades.
