Jean E. Smith, age 91, of Nekoosa died Wednesday December 12, 2018 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday December 17, 2018 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Nekoosa. Rev. Dennis Schwalenberg will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home of Nekoosa is assisting the family.

Jean was born May 10, 1927 in Parsons, West Virginia to John and Sara (Miller) McCrum. She married Leslie Smith on June 21, 1966. He died June 19, 2002. Jean was a long time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed attending flea markets and her walks with her friends in Nekoosa. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jean is survived by seven children, Sarah (Jim) Whitney of Nekoosa, Sandra Steinbach of Wisconsin Rapids, Sharon Steinbach of Wisconsin Rapids, Susan (John) Zielonka of Kewaunee, Shelley Hale of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sonia (Shawn) Lewis of Nekoosa and Leslie (Lisa) Smith of Nekoosa; step daughter, DeAnn (Merlin) David of Nekoosa; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and her many lady friends.

She was Preceded in death by her husband, parents, step daughter Karla Smith and by her brothers and sisters.

Jean’s family would like to thank her caregivers for all the great care and friendship shown to Jean.
