Nekoosa officers defuse disturbance

NEKOOSA – On Dec. 18, at approximately 4:30 a.m., officers were called to a disturbance on Wood Avenue in the city of Nekoosa. There a suicidal person armed with a handgun would not comply with officers.

The situation was contained to the basement of the home. The individual was later taken into custody.

No one was injured during the incident and the community was not in danger.

Nekoosa Police Department officers were assisted by the Wood County Sheriff’s Department.
