Strong leaves St. Luke’s Church

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Martha Strong, director of education and family life ministry (DCE) at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids, has accepted a new position in Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
Martha began work at St. Luke’s on February 1, 1999, as an interim director of Christian education, and was called to the position of DCE on August 1, 1999. Over her nearly 20 years of service at St. Luke’s, Martha has overseen many groups, primarily St. Luke’s youth groups (SLYC, BIC, and CYC), confirmation, Vacation Bible School, and Sunday School, and also taught many Bible studies over the years. Martha was also instrumental in many activities in the congregation.
Martha served in a variety of local and district organizations, including Helping Hands Gospel Mission, the North Wisconsin District Board of Directors, NWD Board of Outdoor Ministry, NWD Family Life Ministry Committee, and the NWD Professional Church Workers Conference Steering Committee. She serves on the KINDLE Operations Council as Recruitment Team Leader.
Martha recently celebrated 30 years since her DCE commissioning.
Martha will serve as the director of religious education for the Religious Services Office at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, beginning in January.
