WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Police are looking for assistance in finding a 27-year-old suspect involved in a high-speed chase in the town of Rome.

On Dec. 21, shortly after 8:30 p.m., Rome officers received a report of an erratic driver traveling south on State Highway 13, approaching the Adams/Wood county line.

The vehicle was located going 83 mph in a 45 mph speed zone. When officers attempted to pull the driver, identified as Yukon P. Tomczak, over a high-speed chase ensued reaching speeds over 100 mph at times.

Adams County deputies deployed a tire deflation device at the intersection of State Hwy 13 and Cottonville Avenue. Tomczak continued on a deflated tire until he lost control and entered a ditch. He then fled the scene on foot.

Officers say the suspect later stole a black 2010 Chevrolet Suburban with the Wisconsin license plate AAX-3044.

If you locate Tomczak or this vehicle, please contact the town of Rome Police Department at 715-325-8020.
