December 18
Suspicious vehicle removed
At 11:54 p.m., an employee of a Wisconsin Rapids department store called to report suspicious activity behind a store, after a man took off running into the woods. Police were able to locate the suspicious male’s vehicle in the employee parking lot that was occupied by a female passenger. Per the store’s request, the vehicle was towed. After a search of the area, officers were able to locate the suspicious male and placed him under arrest.
December 21
Thief on the run
At 5:07 p.m., a theft was reported at a Wisconsin Rapids department store. The thief, a 26-year-old male, took off running in the direction of a nearby gas station. Police were able to locate and arrest the male. His vehicle was then towed from the store’s parking lot.
December 22
Suspicious subjects found
At 5:35 a.m., a gas station employee called to report two suspicious people outside the gas station. Police arrived and found two females near the gas station who said they were there earlier – one had a white hat on, not a mask that the gas station employee thought she had seen.
Suicidal man found
At 9:57 a.m., it was reported that a 25-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man was suicidal and the family was unable to locate him. Wisconsin Rapids police officers tried to ping the man’s cell phone and tried several locations in an effort to find him. The man was finally located at a Wisconsin Rapids feed store. The man was released to his family and agreed to contact his parole/probation officer next week regarding this incident.
December 23
Disturbance reported
At 2:01 a.m., a Wisconsin Rapids woman called to report a disturbance had occurred and asked for extra patrol in her area. She called back a short time later because the male involved had returned to the residence. Police arrived and took the woman to the hospital.
