December 18
Man arrested in Port Edwards
At 9:54 p.m., Port Edwards police responded to a domestic related phone call. A 38-year-old Port Edwards man was placed under arrest for domestic charges and transferred to the Wood County Jail.
December 19
Suspicious activity outside Saratoga
At 11:20 a.m., a resident in the township of Saratoga reported hearing dogs parking and seeing an unknown vehicle parked in a fire lane. A deputy arrived and followed foot prints and a blood trail, until he met up with some hunters. They were rabbit hunting.
Loud noises in Port Edwards
At 8:48 p.m., a Port Edwards woman reported hearing what sounded like gun shots in the area. An officer arrived and another neighbor reported hearing the same noise. A short investigation determined it was due to fireworks.
December 20
Erratic driving reported
At 6:15 p.m., a Port Edwards area driver reported that a car they were following was driving erratically. Police were able to locate the reported vehicle. After speaking with the driver, they admitted to missing a turn they needed and were confused. They were also flustered after being followed so closely by a vehicle. No alcohol was involved.
December 22
Vehicle searched
At 2:15 a.m., Wood County deputies made a traffic stop near Auburndale. A search of the vehicle was completed. The driver was found to be over the legal limit for alcohol consumption. He was eventually released to a family member.
Gas drive off reported
At 10:42 a.m., a Nekoosa gas station reported a $5.06 gas drive off. The 57-year-old man was located, and he returned to the gas station to pay for the gas.
