Doug was born December 13, 1967 in Wisconsin Rapids to Ronald and Karen (Loomans) Eggers. He graduated from Lincoln High School as a member of the Class of 1986. Doug loved his family, sharing his interests with his three sons, nieces, and other grandchildren within the family. In addition to his family, Doug loved music, joining the Wisconsin Rapids Barber Shoppers/SPEBSQSA Chapter at the age of 12. He continued in his love of music, through his high school years, by participating in all 3 choirs. Doug acted as student director, helping with choreography for the Swing Choir, during his senior year. He was also very active with the high school musicals as well, playing one of the lead roles in “Pirates of Penzance.” As an adult, Doug was active in various barbershop quartets, including a neighborhood quartet called “The Backyard Boys” and another quartet through the Oshkosh chapter of the SPEBSQSA barbershop, called the “Coordinated Effort.” In his most recent years, he stayed active by operating a karaoke show, in the Fox Valley, called “Ham It Up Entertainment.” Doug thoroughly enjoyed entertaining anyone who would listen.
He loved cooking. Doug was a fan of the Green Bay Packers. Doug loved the outdoors, including fishing, camping, and hunting. He was a solid lefty on the golf course. In fact, he could be found singing, while golfing or fishing, and occasionally having to be told to be quiet, as to not scare the fish or mess up his golf partner’s concentration. Doug was a good father and had a deep and profound impact on his sons.
Doug is survived by his children: Dyllyn Eggers, Skyler Eggers, and Brody Eggers; his father, Ronald Eggers; his step-mother, Mary Jo Reiter-Eggers; his siblings: Carrie (Mark) Oleson and Carmen (Daniel) Smallbrook; his step-daughter, Hayley Schucknecht; his step-brother, Joseph (Sarah) Killinger; his step-sister, Jamie Killinger; his step-grandsons: Rion Crain and Chase Crain; and his former wives: Amy Olson Eggers and Doreen Eggers. He is preceded in death by his mother, Karen Eggers; his maternal grandparents, Henry and Evelyn (Leu) Loomans; his paternal grandparents, Clayton and Arvella (Witt) Owens; and his uncle, Robert Eggers. He is loved and will be deeply missed. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Eggers Family and this difficult time.
