John Herman Obituary

John William Herman, age 79, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids.  Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3rd and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home.  An evening wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

John was born April 8, 1939 in Rudolph, WI to Charles A. and Anna B. (Mayer) Herman.  He married Karen J. Piper on February 3, 1962 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids.  The marriage ended in divorce.

John was employed as a sheet metal worker for 35 years, retiring in 1991 due to disability.  He was a faithful member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  John also enjoyed golfing and playing solitaire on his computer.  He was a wonderful father and brother and will be dearly missed.

John is survived by his daughter, Alisa Rae Herman (friend Jim Wagner); two brothers: Alfred (Janet) Herman of Cary, NC and Lawrence Herman of Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters: Annabel Reber of Mesa, AZ and Barbara (Harlan) Arndt of Nekoosa; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Donald, Melvin and Walter Herman; sister, Delores Munro; two brothers-in-law: Robert Munro and Allen Reber; and sister-in-law: Betty Lee Herman.
