Rapids wrestlers win Border Battle

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School wrestling team went 4-1 and finished in first place at the WI-MI Border Battle Duals, hosted by Marinette on Jan. 5.

The Red Raiders defeated Eaton Rapids, 29-28, in the first-place match. Rapids also had wins over Marinette, Green Bay Preble, and Shawano Community, while suffering the only loss of the day to Carson City-Crystal.

Peter Rucker and Wyler Lubeck each went 5-0 on the day for Lincoln. Preston Spray went 4-0. Cale Benitz, Isaac Diaz, and Ryan Sering went 4-1. Damien Bennet and Zach Hamel each went 3-2, while Allister Greening and Roger Fuller had records of 2-3.
