Auburndale girls outdistance Pittsville

PITTSVILLE – Auburndale traveled to Pittsville Jan. 21 for a non-conference match up. Scoring started slow for both teams, but once Auburndale got on the board they were hard to slow down. The Apaches took the lead into halftime with a score of 40-12.
The Auburndale girls then dominated the second half, scoring 30 more points, and holding the Panthers to only four points. The game final was 70-16.
High scorers for Auburndale were Georgi Schmutzer with 17 points and Mackenzie Raab with 10. Pittsville’s high scorers were unavailable.
Auburndale will play at home Jan. 25 against conference rival Marathon. Pittsville will also play on their home court Jan. 25 against Stevens Point Pacelli.
