ARPIN – The Bethel Center – an Arpin care facility providing orthopedic rehabilitation, respite care, and memory care services is closing.

Bethel Center administration released the following statement on Jan. 29:

“After years of serving the Arpin, Wisconsin community, the Bethel Center skilled nursing facility has made the decision to close. The owners of Bethel Center have carefully considered the needs of the facilities’ residents and determined that, at this time, helping them to find homes in other communities is the most effective way to ensure that each individual receives the best care possible.

“This unfortunate conclusion comes after years of financial losses at the facility, which have placed its long-term viability in doubt.  Bethel Center has been a center-point of senior care and employment for the community of Arpin for several decades, which has made the decision to close extremely difficult.  However, this path is the most beneficial for the wellbeing of residents and their families, and the leadership of Bethel Center looks forward to working with residents, families, caretakers, and employees to facilitate a smooth transition through this process.”

The release also stated that the facility will work closely with state authorities and patient advocates during it closure and will remain open until each resident has been relocated to an appropriate care facility.

“The owner and leadership of Bethel Center have been honored to serve the Arpin community for so many years and are grateful for the opportunity to assist residents and their families in this transition to a new chapter,” the release stated.

The facility is owned by Providence Health Group out of Goodlettsville, TN – the same company that owns the Colonial Center in Colby.

The Bethel Center was recognized in 2017 as a recipient of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award through the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.
