Point Basse Ice
Miss Wisconsin Rapids Danielle Moon joined volunteers from Historic Point Basse on Jan. 27 to harvest ice on Nepco Lake. The annual event brings 18th and 19th century techniques to present day. The ice was transported to Point Basse and stored in saw dust in an ice house there. The ice will be used for demonstrations with school groups who visit the historic site this spring.
