Marilyn A. Giebel, age 89, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, died Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards, WI.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids.  Rev. Thomas Graves will officiate, burial will take place in Townline Cemetery in the Town of Springville, Adams County, WI.  Visitation will be held at Ritchay Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM.

Marilyn was born July 6, 1929 in Monroe, WI to the late Earl and Rachel (Crakes) Osgood, starting at the age of 9, she had foster parents Pete and Alena Lukken.  She married Bud Brock on June 11, 1949 at Burke Lutheran Church in Madison, WI, that marriage ended in divorce.  She then married Neil Giebel on October 22, 1981 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Baraboo, WI, Neil died January 12, 2002.  Former husband Bud Brock died September 22, 2016.  Marilyn was employed for 21 years as a Nursing Assistant at St. Clare Meadows Care Center in Baraboo, WI, retiring in 1999.  She was also employed as a waitress at Herschleb’s, The Sugar Bowl and Melva’s Restaurant in Wisconsin Rapids.  She enjoyed camping, antique machinery shows, traveling, reading, dancing in her younger years and shopping for purses.  In her spare time she enjoyed socializing with her friends at Chula Vista.  Her strong faith in the Lord had always shown through on to others around her.

Marilyn is survived by her children:  Karen (Steve) Barker, Lynn (Don Yeske) Mitchell, Doug (Karyn) Brock, Jeannette Walker, Lloyd Brock, Rodney Brock, Wesley Brock, many step-children, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, many step-grandchildren, many step-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Marvy Gravogel and many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Rachel Osgood, foster parents Pete and Alena Lukken, brothers Duane and Allen Osgood, son-in-law Michael Walker and cousin Ron Crakes.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ministry Home Care Hospice, the staff of Edgewater Haven Nursing Home and to all of her McFriends at McDonalds’s.
