Port Edwards girls fall to Alma Center

PORT EDWARDS – The Port Edwards Blackhawks hosted the Alma Center Lincoln Hornets for a nonconference match-up on Jan. 26. After being tied at halftime, 19-19, the Hornets outscored the Blackhawks in the second half 33-27 to pull out the victory with a final score 52-46.
Leading the way for the Blackhawks was Kaitlyn Lyp, who netted 30 points in the losing effort. Jade Martin added eight points, Talyor Martin had four, and Brynna Hawk and Krystal Rzepka each had two points. The loss drops the Blackhawks to a 7-8 overall record, 5-2 in conference play.
High scorers for Alma Center Lincoln were Jacquelyn Paul with 14 and Emma Fischer with 10.
The Lady Blackhawks next face Rosholt in Port Edwards on Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.
