For the Rapids City Times

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids Mayor Zach Vruwink was recently recognized for his service to the Boys & Girls Club of the Wisconsin Rapids Area.

Mayor Vruwink joined the Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors in 2010, serving nine years total. In this time, he was part of the governance committee and demonstration dedication to the club mission, while volunteering in various capacities.

Mayor Vruwink describes his belief towards our mission, “Simply put, youth are our future and we cannot afford to have a single person left without the support and opportunities as their peers. My service to the Club came without hesitation. Wisconsin Rapids needs a strong, well-equipped youth population to ensure a successful future.”

“Mayor Vruwink has been instrumental to our organization over the past nine years,” says Club Executive Director Kent Anderson. “Although we are sad to see his term completed, we are grateful for his service and dedication to our organization and the youth in our community.”
