Bonalyn Irmine Hafermann

Bonalyn Irmine Hafermann, age 86, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at Atrium Post-Acute Care in Wisconsin Rapids.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids.  Rev. Jonathan Petzold will officiate.  Entombment will be at Forest Hill Mausoleum.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 5 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at the church.

Bonnie was born October 1, 1932 in Wisconsin Rapids to Leonard and Irma (Buelow) Bulgrin.  She was united in marriage to Keith Hafermann on October 2, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids; they were blessed with 60 years together.  Keith preceded her in death on September 10, 2015.

Bonnie worked as a floral designer and delivery driver for many years for Dahl’s Floral Gardens and Blossoms and Bows in Wisconsin Rapids.

Bonnie was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.  Her children and several of her grandchildren attended Immanuel Lutheran School where she was active as a room mother and later attended many of her grandchildren’s activities.

Bonnie was an avid bowler, bowling twice a week in area women’s leagues.  She also bowled in many state and national bowling tournaments.  She was a very active, social and giving person.  She enjoyed playing cards, shopping and golfing with her lady friends at Homestead.  Bonnie was an excellent cook and baker; she made awesome pies and the best apple squares.  She loved family get togethers and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.

Bonnie is survived by four daughters: Debra (Todd) Schelvan, Lake Tomahawk, Terri (Daniel) Walczak, Wisconsin Rapids, Barbara (Jon) Walczak, Hudson, and Shellie (Dan) Guck, Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren: Trent (Terri) Schelvan, Natasha (Andy) Gutacker, Carissa (Jason) Dolens, Amber Walczak, Zachary (Cassandra) Walczak, Jacob Walczak, Chelsea (Joel) Walczak Vircks, Brandon Guck, and Carson Guck; great-grandchildren: Tanner Schelvan, Tristan Schelvan, Ty Schelvan, Madelyn Gutacker, Jack Gutacker, Vivian Dolens, Lila Dolens, Jemma Walczak, and Daxton Walczak; sisters: Brenda Mayek and Belva Tryba; and brother, Belvin Bulgrin; and sister-in-law, Margaret Hafermann.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith; sister and brother-in-law, Bernadyne (Donald) Rosenthal; parents- in-law, Ervin and Esther Hafermann; and brother-in-law, Donald Hafermann.
