Wisconsin Rapids makes adjustments to school schedule
By the Rapids City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – After four days of school cancellations at the end of January, the Wisconsin Rapids School District says it will have one day to make up at the end of the school year. The district says all schools will be in session for an entire day, instead of early dismissal, on the last day of school, June 7.
Officials say Lincoln High School and the Wisconsin Rapids Area Middle School are slightly low on minutes even with that extension, and for those two buildings, the start and end times for each day will change beginning Feb. 11.
Lincoln will add an extra five minutes, and start at 7:30 a.m., with dismissal at 2:53 p.m. Wisconsin Rapids Area Middle School will start their days at 7:28 a.m. and run until 2:41 p.m., adding an extra four minutes to their days. The district says this will not impact bus pick-ups or drop-offs. The adjustment will not change the graduation date for Lincoln High School or River Cities High School.
This plan may change with another round of cancellations Feb. 7. If needed, the district says it will have to re-communicate new plans.
