WISCONSIN DELLS – The Nekoosa boys basketball team took a loss to the Wisconsin Dells Chiefs in a Feb. 8 game in Wisconsin Dells.

The Dells got out to an early lead with a few 3-pointers and a halftime lead, 35-13. The Chiefs pressed the entire game, making it difficult for the Papermakers to get on the offensive side of the court.

Jace Lobner made a series of layups to help Nekoosa play even in the second half, but the Papermakers lost 67-38.

Lead scorers for Nekoosa were Jace Lobner, with 14, and Drew Doebereiner with seven. High scorers for the Dells were Bryson Funmaker, 21, and Riley Eck, 13.

Following the Feb. 8 game, the Wisconsin Dells Chiefs move to 14-4 on the season and sit at the top of South Central Conference with a 7-0 record. The Nekoosa Papermakers move to 2-16 on the season and are fifth in the South Central Conference.
