Rapids and Nekoosa/Assumption/Port Edwards wrestlers qualify for state

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Multiple Wisconsin Rapids and Nekoosa/Assumption/Port Edwards high school wrestlers qualified for the WIAA state individual tournament during Feb. 16 sectional competition.
Division 1
Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln wrestlers qualifying for state during sectional competition held at Menominee High School on Feb. 16 are: 106-pound bracket, Preston Spray, second; 126, Cale Benitz, second; 145, Wylen Lubeck, second; 220, Layne Kalata, first; and 285, Mike Iverson, first.
Division 2
Three Nekoosa/Assumption/Port Edwards wrestlers qualified for state at sectional competition in Wrightstown. They are: 113, Blaze Thurber, second; 138, Craig Elsen, second; and 160, Aden Elsen, second.
State individual competition will be held Feb. 21-23 at the Kohl Center in Madison.
