Heart of Wisconsin Chamber recognizes local efforts

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce annually recognizes local members for their support of the community and the chamber itself.
During the chamber’s 71st Annual Meeting & Awards Banquet, held Feb. 21 at the Ridges in Wisconsin Rapids, the following individuals and businesses were recognized for their contributions in 2018:
Community Spirit – Central Wisconsin Gift of Life, Jill Dillon; Chamber Champion – Dade “Big Pipes” Grode; Ambassador of the Year – Carrie Nikolai; Shinning Star/Non-Profit of the Year – Wisconsin Rapids Elks Lodge #693; Citizen of the Year – Mayor Zach Vruwink; Entrepreneur of the Year – Crockett Septic, Lori Leggett & George Van Stedum; Regional Economic Impact – South Wood County Airport Commission; Innovative Business of the Year – Verso Corporation Wisconsin Rapids Mill; and Business of the Year – Quality Foods Hometown Markets.
