WRPS Children’s Theatre to perform Aladdin

For the Rapids City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Dreaming of something fun to do March 8-10? Wish Granted! Come see the Wisconsin Rapids Publics Schools (WRPS) Children’s Theatre program perform of Aladdin at the Lincoln High School Performing Arts Center, Wisconsin Rapids.
Aladdin is a tale told in two acts with a single 15-minute intermission. There will be eye popping color, enchanting storytelling, vivid costumes, and engaging song, music and dance.
The play will take you across the sun-soaked desert and into the streets of Agrabah – to the dark and unusual Cave of Wonders – where you are certain to run into familiar characters such as Aladdin, his monkey Abu, Princess Jasmine, the villainous Jafar, a magical carpet, and a scattin’ showman Genie.
Over 50 3rd-5th graders from the WRPS School district have been preparing since the end of December.
The shows will be held March 8-9, at 7 p.m., and March 10 at 2 p.m. at the LHS Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available through the Arts Council of South Wood County, Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce, and Thomas A. Lenk Educational Services Center.
