Riverkings sweep Mullets in first round

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings swept the Minnesota Mullets in the first round of playoffs, starting with an 8-1 win on Feb. 22, at South Wood County Recreation Center.

Drake Bradshaw kept the net in order defending 20 of the 21 shots on goal. Thimo Ey had two on the night as did Adam Peterson, one being short-handed. Jesse Edwards, Raymond Fleming, Evan Erdmann, and Max Moore all found the back of the net, as well.

Peterson, Jordan Stear,Haralds Jirgens, Chase MacKenzie, Jered Stevenson, Fleming, Cole Creger, Ey, Erdmann, Edwards,Bradly McDonald, and Tanner Dey all had assists on the night.

A 5-2 win Saturday night advance the Riverkings to second round playoffs.

With 585 fans in attendance, Dom Paciocco turned aside 35 of the Mullets 37 shots. Ey had two on the night, one being an empty netter. Creger, Tomáš Krchnak, and Richie Young all had goals on the night.

Creger, Peterson, Ey, Stevenson,  Fleming, and Stear had assists on the night.
