YP Week

For the Rapids City Times

MILWAUKEE – NEWaukee recently announced that Wisconsin Rapids will be one of the select communities hosting YPWeek April 19-27.

Along with Current – Wisconsin Rapids, other host communities include: Beaver Dam, Beloit, Chequamegon Bay, Fond du Lac, Fox Cities, Green Bay, Hartford, Kenosha, Madison, Manitowoc, Marshfield, Milwaukee, Oshkosh, Racine, Sheboygan County, Stevens Point, and Waukesha County.

This will be Current’s fourth year participating in YPWeek. There will be tours offered at Verso Co., a unique historical bus tour starting and ending at the South Wood County Historical Museum, and trivia at B’s Tap House.

Started by NEWaukee(newaukee.com) in 2012, YPWeek is a weeklong platform for discovery, adventure, and meaningful conversations about the issues that matter among young people. “Since we started YPWeek in 2012, people have reached out to us wanting to learn how to host the program in their own city,” said Angela Damiani, CEO and co-founder of NEWaukee. “As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, it makes sense to share what we’ve learned to help other organizations better their communities.”
