Local youth wrestlers qualify for WWF state tournament

RIVER FALLS – Area youth wrestlers qualified for the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation Kids Folkstyle Tournament, during state qualifier at River Falls High School and Merrill High School on March 16.

Eight locations around the state hosted qualifying meets for the state championships to be held March 22-23 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.

The top two place winners in each age and weight class qualify for the state.

Marshfield and Wisconsin Rapids area wrestlers earning a spot in River Falls competition were: Owen Reynolds of Wisconsin Rapids, Deegan Armagost of Wisconsin Rapids, Aiden Armagost of Wisconsin Rapids, Evan Jakobi of Marshfield Wrestling Club, Hoyt Blaskowski of Marshfield Wrestling Club, and Garrett Willuweit of Marshfield Wrestling Club.

Wrestlers competing at Merrill High School moving on to state are: Reed Akkerman of Wisconsin Rapids, Blake Roeper of Stratford, Holden Lomax of Spencer Columbus, Carson Weiler of Auburndale, Porter Spohn of Wisconsin Rapids, Conner Johnson of Auburndale, Beck Dammann of Auburndale, Sean Sleznikow of Marshfield Wrestling Club, Nathan Lucio of Stratford,  Alex Becker of Auburndale, Sawyer Malsin of Auburndale, Kolton Haupt of Stratford, Jackson Freeman of Wisconsin Rapids, Colin Cournoyer of Stratford, Lucas Forrest of Stratford,  Aaron Knetter of Stratford, Brennen Welch of Auburndale, Kash Ostermann of Marshfield Wrestling Club,  Haiden Carlson of Marshfield Wrestling Club, Jasper Hebel of Wisconsin Rapids, Drew Gage of Stratford, Dawson Baird of Auburndale,  Matthew Sering of Wisconsin Rapids,  Colton Weiler of Auburndale, Mason Tritz of Wisconsin Rapids, Caleb Dennee of Marshfield Wrestling Club, Alik Martin of Marshfield Wrestling Club, Cooper Meyer of Wisconsin Rapids, Brok Carolfi of Marshfield Wrestling Club, Tanner Gormanson of Wisconsin Rapids, Lucas Bean of Wisconsin Rapids,  Brett Back of Wisconsin Rapids, Jackson Ormond of Stratford, Brett Franklin of Marshfield Wrestling Club, Ryan Becker of Stratford, Lukas Barth of Marshfield Wrestling Club,  Sloan Welch of Auburndale, Cora Meddaugh of Auburndale, Ember Zupanc of Marshfield Wrestling Club, Lauren Pribbernow of Spencer Columbus, Adelia Scapardine of Marshfield Wrestling Club, Azariah Hoffmann of Spencer Columbus, Amiya Leverance of Nekoosa, and Daisha Storlie of Nekoosa.
